If Philip is drinking too much, it ISN'T because of Chloe. Hope Nicole tells her that...

Maybe all of the drinking is leading Philip to make other bad decisions.

I need to hear Philips side before I'm willing to make a judgment on fault, but I'm enjoying Nicole and Chloe so much I don't want their conversation to end!

Well, that's not a good sign. If Philip is drinking, especially drinking in excess, he is definitely making bad deciaions. I love the Chloe/Nicole dynamic! It's great! Great story, Kpatch!

Chapter 6
“If Philip was so thrilled with his life with me,” Chloe told Nicole, “he wouldn’t be drinking all the time, you know?”
~~Flashback to November 2014~~
While talking to Nicole, Chloe recounted a story. She remembered picking up Parker from Titan’s daycare center on her way home from the airport after a business trip last fall. Almost as soon as she got him home, Parker climbed into bed for a nap. Daycare really seemed to wear him out sometimes.
Chloe was exhausted herself. All this nonstop travel was totally taxing. She put her luggage in the bedroom and kicked off her shoes. She shook her head when she saw what a mess it was in there. Philip used to make the bed, but not anymore. The bedspread was on the floor and the blankets were balled up at the foot of the bed. Sigh. Sadly, everything he did and didn’t do lately bugged her.
So she headed for the laundry room and tossed some garments into the washing machine. Next to the dryer was the recycling bin. Chloe was surprised to see it filled with empty wine bottles. Philip couldn’t have consumed all this wine all by himself during the three days she was gone, could he? There were at least a dozen empty bottles here.
From the laundry she went into the kitchen. She was a little hungry so she looked in the pantry for a snack. She took out some flatbreads, then she opened the fridge to get a piece of Emanthaler cheese, and she noticed the cheese keeper was practically empty. Hmmm. No Emanthaler. None of the brie she bought last weekend at Whole Foods. Just some of Parker’s individually wrapped American cheese. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers. She opened the cabinet to get a plate and there were none. Sheesh, Philip, can’t you even empty the dishwasher?
She opened the dishwasher and, as she suspected, all the clean dishes were inside. At least Philip ran the dishwasher instead of just putting the dirty dishes inside and expecting them to magically get clean, like he usually did.
She reached for a plate when she noticed four wine glasses in there. If she told Philip once, she told him a hundred times. The Waterford Crystal wine goblets were too fragile to run through the dishwasher — they need to be washed by hand. The glasses were a wedding gift from George Peterson from Whole Foods and they were gorgeous.
When she pulled out a glass, she did a double-take. There was lipstick residue on one of the glasses and it definitely wasn’t her color. She’d never wear a pink that garish. Oh my god. Was Philip trying to get rid of some evidence, and that’s why he ran the dishwasher? More importantly, did he actually sleep with that girl Monica in their bed? That thought made her stomach turn.
Putting the glass down, Chloe started feeling dizzy. She felt shaky and her vision was growing dim. She held onto the marble countertop for support. She wasn’t sure which was more imminent — passing out or throwing up. Up to now, she only suspected Philip was having an affair. Now she had proof and she could no longer avoid confronting him.

Think, Chloe. Was Parker with you on that business trip? IF Philip cheated, would he do it with Parker around?

You'd think Philip would mention he was hosting a party. It's no wonder Chloe is suspicious after overhearing Monica talking about Philip getting amorous when he drinks.

It's still circumstantial... and again I have a feeling that Kate (or somebody) is behind this, making it look like something is happening that is not happening.

As a reminder, this week we go into a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule.
The next two chapters (Chapter 7 and 8) are lengthy (over 1000 words each). So your choice. Should I break them up into about 500 words each and that way I will post half of chapter 7 today, half tomorrow (as well as half of chapter 8 on Thursday, half on Friday) or save it and post the complete chapter all at once tomorrow?
Majority rules.
