Chapter 24

PARK
Jordan had calmed down by now. Ben walked over.
BEN: Hey, what's going on? You sounded upset over the phone.
JORDAN: I saw him.
BEN: Who?
JORDAN: You know who.
There was a moment of silence.
BEN: No, really. Who?
JORDAN: You know exactly who I'm talking about.
BEN: Okay, look, can we please stop all this vagueness? I mean how many different vague conversations about our probably still unwritten past can we have? How many who's can we be talking about? I mean, even though you've been on nearly a year, and I've been on just less than that, the audience still barely know us. They're beginning to lose interest!
JORDAN; Fine. I mean Clem. I saw Clem.
BEN: Jordan, that's impossible.
JORDAN: I swear, I saw him! He walked right past me! He even said hello!
BEN: Did you forget to take your meds?
JORDAN: No! If I did, would I be acting as rationally as I am now?
BEN: Okay. Let's just go someplace else and talk about this.
Ben put his arm around Jordan and the two walked away. Unknown to them, Stan had been hiding in the bushes and had heard everything. He got out his phone and dialed a number.
KATE (over phone): Hello?
STAN: I have a lead on Jordan Ridgeway for you.
KATE (over phone): Who is this?
STAN: Someone who wants to help you. But that doesn't matter. The next time you speak to Clyde Weston, bring up a man from Jordan's past named Clem.
Stan hung up the phone.

CHEZ ROUGE
Kate hung up the phone and stared at it. As it happens, she was out to dinner with Clyde at this very moment.
KATE: Well, that was weird.
CLYDE: What's that?
KATE: Some man just called me and told me to ask you about a man from Jordan's past.
CLYDE: Well, as you can imagine, there were a lotta people chasin' after Tammy Sue, seein' as she's such a pretty young thing. Did this mysterious person say which man it was?
KATE: Well, he didn't say a last name, but he said the first name was Clem.
Clyde coughed in an effort to suppress a look of shock. He was unsuccessful.
KATE: What? Surely, it can't be that bad?
CLYDE: Oh, it is bad, and don't call me Shirley.
KATE: So, what exactly happened between Tammy Sue and this Clem guy?
CLYDE: Well, I suppose it'd be best to start at the beginning.

[stickywicket]

It is nice to see a motherly side to Eve.

Chapter 25

PARK
Clyde and Kate had by now finished their dinner and were going for a walk.
KATE: That's Jordan's big secret?
CLYDE: Yep.
KATE: Wow! I knew it had to be something big, what with all the vague things I've heard her and Ben talking about since they came to town, but I didn't think it was this big.
CLYDE: You can't ever tell her that you know.
KATE: Wouldn't dream of it.
Clyde's cell phone rang.
CLYDE: Excuse me.
Clyde walked away.
KATE: Well, little miss Tammy Sue, you have been a bad girl, haven't you?

EVE'S APARTMENT
Eve carried Teresa, who was now asleep, into the bedroom and laid her on the bed.
EVE: Oh, little sister, what have you gotten yourself into?
She gently stroked Teresa's hair.

DIMERA MANSION
Rex and Cassie had E.J. strapped down to a chair in the DiMera basement. Chad walked down.
CHAD: How is he?
REX: He's alive.
CASSIE: Mostly.
CHAD: Has Rolf begun work on him?
Rolf walked in.
ROLF: I was just about to, Chadwick.
CHAD: Good. I hope you don't have any plans for the twins currently.
REX: Why?
CASSIE: We wanted to stay and watch.
CHAD: You can come back and watch later. But, right now you must come upstairs with me.
REX: What's going on?
CASSIE: Why do we need to come upstairs with you?
CHAD: You must prepare. He is coming home.

Just caught up. Great story so far. Loved the conversation about the audience losing interest.

Chapter 26

EVE'S APARTMENT
The next morning, Eve was eating a bagel. Slowly, Teresa walked into the living room. She was very pale. She wiped her nose.
EVE: Good morning.
TERESA: Hey.
EVE: How do you feel?
TERESA: Like I got hit by a truck.
Teresa sat down on the couch.
EVE: Well, you had a rough night last night.
TERESA: No kidding.
EVE: Want something to eat?
Teresa winced.
TERESA: Please, no. Don't even talk about food right now.
Teresa looked down at the table. Her supplies were missing.
TERESA: Where's my stuff?
Eve got up and threw her napkin away.
EVE: What stuff?
TERESA: I...um...I had some stuff here. Some of my things were on the table last night. At least, I think they were. I don't really remember much of last night. All I remember is that apple vodka tastes really good the first time...but really disgusting the second time it goes through your mouth.
Eve sat down on the couch.
TERESA: Anyway, where's my stuff?
EVE: You mean the paper bag with the dragon on the side and the burnt spoon? That stuff?
Teresa slid down in her seat. She coughed.
TERESA: Uh...yeah. That stuff.
EVE: I got rid of it.
TERESA: You what?!

PARK
Jordan was sitting on Benchy in the park. Stan walked over.
STAN: Hello, Jordan.
Jordan flinched when she saw him.
STAN: Or should I say Tammy Sue?
JORDAN: What are you doing here?
STAN: I came to see you. It's been a long time.
JORDAN: How are you even here? This...this is impossible!
Jordan got up and ran away. Stan chuckled, got out his phone and dialed a number.
STAN: Mission accomplished.

DIMERA MANSION
REX: Who?
CHAD: You know who.
CASSIE: Who?
REX: No! You don't mean...
CHAD: Who else?
Cassie and Rex looked at each other.
CASSIE: We thought he was dead.
CHAD: I'm very sorry. We're obviously not talking about the same person. When I say him, I don't mean André.
REX: Well, then who do you mean?
CHAD: The big man.
Cassie gasped.
CASSIE: You mean?
CHAD: That's right, Cassie. The watchdogs have been called off. I've settled his debts. Stefano is coming back to Salem.

Chapter 27

The Previous Night

EVE'S APARTMENT
Teresa lay on Eve's bed, passed out from excessing on alcohol. Like most of her hours of sleep now, she was dreaming. This time, however, it wasn't of her past. It was just a really bizarre dream. Watch this to see what she's dreaming about*. Again, it wasn't quite a nightmare, just really bizarre. But, when she woke up that morning, she had an intense craving for drugs.

Now

DIMERA MANSION
Cassie and Rex walked downstairs. Chad was waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs.
CHAD: You both look very nice.
REX: Thank you.
CASSIE: We were just following orders.
CHAD: And, you did so very well. Please, come with me.
Chad held out his arm, which Cassie took. Rex walked on Chad's other side. The three entered the DiMera living room. Chad let go of Cassie's arm. He walked over to an armchair.
CHAD: We have guests.
MAN (VO): Who are they?
Rex and Cassie flinched when they heard the voice.
CHAD: The twins. They are ready for their purpose.
The person in the chair stood up and turned around to reveal himself as Stefano.
STEFANO: Excellent.
Stefano walked over to Rex and shook his hand.
STEFANO: Rex.
He then walked over to Cassie, took her hand, and kissed it.
STEFANO: Cassandra.
Chad stood next to Stefano.
CHAD: Twins, this is Stefano. Father, I am glad you are back.
STEFANO: Oh, Chadwick, it is good to be back.
Stefano chuckled.

PARK
Kate walked through the park. Her cell phone rang. She stopped and answer it, but didn't get the chance, as she was hit upside the head.
