When reading this, I could visualize Theresa's panicked reaction. Great stuff André DiMera! Can't wait to see what the future holds for Cassie & Rex!

Chapter 19 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Eve had come back to the hospital, and was sitting by Paige's bedside. EVE (whispering): Please be okay, baby girl. Please, be okay. Slowly, Paige opened her eyes. EVE: Hey, baby girl. How are you? PAIGE: Mom? Paige tried to sit up, but soon realized that that was a mistake. EVE: Hey, hey. It's okay. Don't try to get up. You just lay back down and relax. Eve helped Paige lay down. PAIGE: What happened? EVE: Well, you, uh...you and a friend were arguing and you had a little fall down the stairs. PAIGE: When was that? EVE: A couple days ago, now. Maybe a week. You were in a coma for the first couple of days. PAIGE: I don't remember of that. EVE: That's okay. PAIGE: Mom, what are you doing here? EVE: Paigey, you're my daughter. Where else would I be? PAIGE: No, I mean what are you doing here in Salem? PARK Teresa stood in the park. Stan walked up behind her. STAN: You waitin' on someone, miss? Teresa turned around. TERESA: Who are you? Where's the attractive guy in the suit with the slicked back hair? STAN: He's busy. TERESA: He didn't seem busy when he answered my phone call this afternoon. STAN: Your new proprietor felt that he needed an assistant. Someone to come when he was unavailable. And be assured, he is quite busy. TERESA: Busy with what? STAN: None of your business. Now, you got the money? TERESA: You got the stuff? Stan showed Teresa a paper bag with a dragon on the front of it. Teresa handed Stan a $20 and a $5. In return, Stan handed her the bag. TERESA: My, um...client wants the pure stuff. STAN: Your proprietor assures me that this is the purest stuff you'll ever get in these parts. Unless you...your client, I mean, wants to try something a little stronger. Stan showed Teresa a bag with snowball on the front. STAN: For a price, your client can have this. TERESA: No thanks. My client just wants to chase the dragon. No snowball fights necessary. Stan put the bag away. TERESA: So, what do I call you, then? STAN: Just call me Stan the Man. Stan did a heel-turn and walked away.

To make up for no chapter yesterday, here is a second chapter for today! Chapter 20 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Eve was now talking to Kayla outside of Paige's room. EVE: She doesn't remember me coming to Salem. How much could she have forgotten? KAYLA: I have no idea. But, I will do a thorough check up on her to see how far back this goes. EVE: But, how does something like this even happen? KAYLA: The mind is an amazing thing. More amazing than many people realize. However, it's also a very fragile thing. In times of great trauma, the mind can sometimes reset itself to a point in time before the trauma. EVE: So, Paige's brain has been reset? KAYLA: To a certain point. We don't know how far back yet, though. Definitely before you returned to Salem. EVE: Is it possible that she doesn't remember J.J.? Or, at least, not loving him? KAYLA: As I said, without a more thorough examination, I have no way of knowing. EVE: Hmm. KAYLA: Why are you concerned about her remembering J.J.? I thought you might be happy for your daughter that she found someone she loves. EVE: Oh, I am. I just don't want J.J. to be upset if he comes in here one day and she doesn't remember him. KAYLA: Hmm. I see. Well, I will look into Paige's memory loss and get back to you on that. EVE: Great. Thanks, Dr. Brady. EVE'S APARTMENT Teresa was laying out on Eve's couch, nodding off. She was dreaming of times that had long since passed. PAUL REVERE MIDDLE SCHOOL (LOS ANGELES) - FLASHBACK A twelve year old Teresa walked down the hallways, carrying books under her arm, a backpack clinging to her shoulders. At this point in time, she was still going by her original name, Jeannie. Her hair was its original dirty blonde, and she wore glasses. One of the jocks, a boy named Wes, whistled as she walked past. WES: Hey, Jeannie, why don't you crawl back in your bottle so we don't see you? JEANNIE (under her breath): Real funny, Wes. Just like the last twenty times. She walked up to a locker and was just twisting the combination lock, when Bridonna, one of her fellow classmates, walked up. BRIDONNA: Hey, freak. Jeannie jumped when she heard the voice. Bridonna was quite a bit bigger than her. JEANNIE: Oh, hi, Bri. BRIDONNA: Where's my money? JEANNIE: Oh, yeah. Here. Jeanie handed the bigger girl $5. BRIDONNA: That's it? are you freaking kidding me? JEANNIE; I'm sorry. That's all I have. BRIDONNA: Isn't your dad some kind of super spy/special agent/international man of mystery or something? Get him to give you some money. JEANNIE: W-well, you see, I would. But, he's not in town right now... BRIDONNA: Don't care. Just make sure you double, no triple this by tomorrow. Or you pretty little hair is gonna get soaked. JEANNIE: O-okay. BRIDONNA: Oh, and by the way, have a nice trip. JEANNIE: But, I w-wasn't... Bridonna pushed Jeannie into the locker, making her drop all her books and her glasses. Jeannie whimpered slightly, picked up her books and put them in her locker. She picked up her glasses, which now had a crack in them, and ran to the bathroom.

Poor Jeannie. No wonder she turned out the way she did. Thanks for the bonus chapter André DiMera.

Thanks for the bonus chapter!
Wow, that really sucked for Theresa that she had people tormenting her. Not that it necessarily excuses anything she did, but it would explain a whole lot of her behavior. It makes me wish that she had a real friend.

Thanks for these chapters André DiMera. I find it interesting that Kayla would mention Paige's mind possibly resetting itself to a point in time, before the trauma. Could Eve's return be the trauma that Paige would rather forget? It was sad to read about Jeannie being bullied.

Chapter 21 PAUL REVERE MIDDLE SCHOOL - FLASHBACK Young Jeannie sat in the cafeteria. As usual, she was in the corner, eating alone. This was the day after the previous flashback. She heard someone clear their throat and looked up to see Bridonna standing over her. BRIDONNA: Hey, freak. Did you forget what day it is? JEANNIE: No, I know what day it is. It's Friday. BRIDONNA: Exactly. And Friday means pay day. And remember, the rate's tripled since you couldn't pay me in full yesterday. It's what I like to call compound interest. Jeannie gulped, fearing the consequences of what she was about to say. JEANNIE: W-well. See...the thing is... BRIDONNA: What? You're not gonna pay me? JEANNIE; I-I can't. I d-don't have the m-money. My dad's still out of... Bridonna put her hand on the back of Jeannie's head and forced her head into her food. BRIDONNA: You know the rules, freak. Bridonna took Jeannie by the hand and dragged her out of the cafeteria. JEANNIE (crying): Please, just leave me alone! Bridonna led Jeannie into the bathroom, stuck her head down a toilet, and flushed. When the toilet was done flushing, Bridonna brought Jeannie's head, which was dripping wet, partly from the swirly but also partly from Jeannie's tears, back up. BRIDONNA: Want that to happen again? Jeannie shook her head. BRIDONNA: Then pay me back with five-times interest on Monday.EVE'S APARTMENT Teresa sat up. She wiped her eyes. TERESA: Weird. Why would I be dreaming about that? That was years ago. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Paige was sitting up in her bed. There was a knock on the door. PAIGE: Come in. The door opened and J.J. walked in. He walked over to Paige's bedside. J.J.: Hey. I know you're probably not up for this, but... PAIGE: J.J.! Thank god you're here! Paige wrapped her arms around him. CHEATIN' HEART E.J. sat the bar, looking into a glass of beer. He felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see Cassie and Rex standing on either side of him. The hand on his shoulder belonged to Rex. REX: Hello, E.J. E.J.: Who are you? CASSIE: Surprised you don't know. I'm Cassie. REX: And I'm Rex. REX & CASSIE: We are the Gemini Twins. E.J.: Oh, yes. I've heard of you. Samantha told me about you two. Can I help you? CASSIE: No. But, we're here to help you. REX: We're here on our father's business. E.J.: What, Roman? What business does he have with me? CASSIE: No, no. Not that father. REX: We mean our real father. CASSIE: André DiMera.

Chapter 22 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL J.J.: Okay. I'm glad to see you, too. PAIGE: J.J., what's going on? How did I end up here? J.J.: About a week ago, you fell down the stairs at your mom's apartment, and you've been here ever since. PAIGE: But, when did she get here? She never told me she was coming to Salem. J.J.: Paige, your mom's been here for months. PAIGE: She has? J.J.: Yeah. PAIGE: I don't remember that. J.J.: Are you okay? PAIGE: I don't know. I don't think so. I can barely remember anything since you and I started dating. J.J.: Okay. Well, I will do my best to fill in the blanks of the events since then. PAIGE: Thank you, J.J. I love you! J.J.: I love you, too. J.J. took Paige's hand. The two smiled. J.J.: Now, where to begin? CHEATIN' HEART E.J.: André? What does André have to do with all this? REX: He has everything to do with this. CASSIE: He is the reason why we're here. E.J.: But, surely André's not alive? Surely, he's dead. REX: He is dead, and don't call us Shirley. CASSIE: But André lives inside all of us. E.J.: How do you mean? REX: Everybody has a little bit of André inside of them. CASSIE: The dark parts of them. REX: The parts they don't want anybody to know about. CASSIE: The dark parts. E.J.: I still don't see what this has to do with me. REX: We have come to help you realize your full potential. CASSIE: Give in to the darkness, E.J. E.J. stood up and looked the twins in the eye. E.J.: What if I refuse? REX: Then you have chosen incorrectly.

Chapter 23 PARK Jordan was sitting in the park. Stan walked by. STAN: Evening. Jordan looked up and shrieked in horror. Stan ignored her and continued walking. Quickly, Jordan got out her cell phone. JORDAN; I need to see you right away! Pause. JORDAN: Yes, Of course this is important! I need your help with something! EVE'S APARTMENT Eve walked into the apartment to find all of Teresa's various drug parphenalia sitting on the table in front of the couch. There was also an open, half empty bottle of vodka on the table. EVE: Oh, god. Eve walked down the hall to the bathroom, where Teresa sat with her head in the toilet. EVE: What the hell is going on here? Teresa attempted to sit up. When she spoke, her speech was slurred. TERESA: Eve, shut up. Just leave me alone. Teresa then put her head back down and was sick. Eve walked over to her and held her hair back. EVE: You need some help, little sister. TERESA: No, I don't. I'm fine. I just got a little sick. No big deal. EVE (thinking): I knew this was a mistake when I let her stay. DIMERA MANSION Cassie and Rex dragged E.J., who was unconscious and badly bruised, into the Mansion, where Chad was waiting. CHAD: I see you have our special guest. REX: Of course. CASSIE: Do with him as you wish. They dropped E.J. on the ground. CHAD: Guys, guys, guys, no. This is not the way we treat our guest. REX: Oh, right. CASSIE: Sorry. Rex and Cassie picked up E.J. Both punched him in the gut. Then, they set him down in a chair. CHAD: Much better. Chad went over to E.J. and slapped him on the cheek a few times to wake him up. CHAD: There we go. You're back with us now. Good. E.J.: Chad...what the bloody hell are you doing? CHAD: Well, brother. This is a little thing I like to call revenge.
