Chapter 16

EVE'S APARTMENT
Eve had come home to get a clean change of clothes. Just as she was about to leave, there was a knock on the door. Eve opened it.
TERESA: Oh, thank god you're home.
Without waiting for her to say anything, Teresa walked in, carrying a bunch of suitcases.
EVE: Teresa. Lovely to see you, as always. Please, come in.
TERESA: You would not believe the day I am having.
EVE: Well, you would not believe mine, either.
TERESA: I need a drink.
Teresa went into the kitchen, got a bottle of wine and a glass, poured some in and began drinking.
EVE: Teresa, I don't mean to be rude, but I was just leaving.
TERESA: You can't. Not yet. I need to talk to you.
EVE: I don't have time for this.
TERESA: Make time.
EVE: Okay. What's with all the suitcases? Are you going on a trip or something?
TERESA: Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I kinda got kicked out of my apartment.
EVE: What do you mean you kinda got kicked out of your apartment?
TERESA: I don't know. They sent me some kind of paper about not paying a bill or something. Who cares? They're stupid, anyway.
Teresa poured herself another glass of wine.
EVE: So, what does this have to do with me?
TERESA: Well, I need a place to stay for a few days, just until I can find a new place.
EVE: No, I can't let you stay here. I've got too much on my plate as it is.
TERESA: Please, Eve? It'll just be for a few days, I promise. Come on, help your little sister out.
Eve thought about it.
EVE: Okay. A few days. A week or two tops.
Teresa hugged Eve.
TERESA: Thank you!
EVE (under her breath): Why do I get the feeling I'm gonna regret this?

DIMERA MANSION
Chad and Cassie sat in the DiMera living room.
CASSIE: So, that's the plan?
CHAD: Part of it, yes. I'll fill you in on the other part once your brother is with us.
Rolf walked in.
ROLF: The patient is ready.
Cassie and Chad followed Rolf down to the basement. There, lying on the table, was Rex. He sat up when he heard their approach.
CHAD: Good evening, Rex. Are you comfortable?
REX: Once I'm off this table, I will be.
Chad waved his hand.
CHAD: Rise, my friend.
Rex stood beside Cassie.
CHAD: Hold out your arms.
Both Cassie and Rex held out their right arm. On the forearm, there was a black tattoo of the star sign Gemini.
CHAD: Touch hands.
The twins took each others hand. Both tattoos glowed a brilliant shade of yellow as soon as their hands touched.
CHAD: They are connected now, Rolf?
ROLF: Indeed, Chadwick. Moreso than any other pair of twins.
Stan walked in.
STAN: Hope I didn't miss the party. The door was open, so I decided to walk right in. Hello, Rex. You're looking better since the last time I saw you.
REX: Sami.
STAN: It's Stan now.
REX: No, it's Sami.
STAN: No.
Stan punched Rex.
STAN: It's Stan.

Oooh, looking forward to some bonding time between Eve and Theresa! I can't wait to see how this turns out!

I like the irony of Sami/Stan (who's half a twin) walking in just when Rolf was saying that the Gemini twins are connected more than any other set of twins.

Chapter 17

EVE'S APARTMENT
EVE: Well, I have to go back to the hospital and see what's going on with Paige.
TERESA: Okay. Have fun. I'll be here.
EVE: I probably won't be back for a few hours.
TERESA: Okay.
Teresa went to go sit down on the couch, but dropped her purse. A syringe fell out of it. Eve picked it up.
EVE: Um, what is this?

SALEM UNIVERSIY HOSPITAL
Kayla was in checking John's vitals.
KAYLA: I just can't believe this. This is the fastest I've ever seen someone recover after being in a coma for so long.
JOHN: Well, believe it, Kay. They can't keep me down.
MARLENA: Looks like that drug we got really was a miracle.
JOHN: That's a fact. Anyway, how soon can I be released?
KAYLA: Well, I was just checking you up, and you seem to be healthier than you've been in years. I don't see any reason as to why you can't be released today.
JOHN: That's great.
MARLENA: I'm sure everyone will be glad to hear that.
JOHN: Doc, there's just one question I've got. You mentioned that Sami found out some dark secret about E.J. How's she doing since then?

DIMERA MANSION
Chad put a hand on Stan's shoulder.
CHAD: Stan, calm yourself. Poor Rex here is just a little confused. He will not make the same mistake again, will he Rolf?
ROLF: No, of course not.
CHAD: Good. We can't afford any mistakes at this crucial moment of the plan.
STAN: So what is the plan, exactly?
CHAD: Well, we have the Gemini twins. They've both been reprogrammed by Rolf. Now, it's time we use them.
REX: So, what are our orders?
CHAD: Well, for the first project, you'll be working with Stan, seeing as it was his idea.
CASSIE & REX: It was?
STAN: It was?
CHAD: Yes, Stan. It was your idea. Together, the three of you will destroy our brother, your ex-husband.
STAN: So, what was the purpose of reprogramming them?
ROLF: That is where I come in. Stefano always had big plans for the twins, ever since they first appeared in Salem during the Gemini meteor shower. He that when they were together and their full potential unlocked, when they became true DiMeras if you will, that they would be the most unstoppable force Salem has ever seen. Aside from the Phoenix himself, of course.
CHAD: The glowing tattoos on their forearms are a sign of their entrance into Salem.
ROLF: Oh, they are so much more than that.
REX: They are a symbol of our power.
CASSIE: The power of the Gemini.
REX & CASSIE: We are the Gemini. Together, we shall bring about a new age for the DiMera family. Together, we shall rule Salem.
CHAD: Excellent. But first, Rolf, get them some proper clothes.

I like having Rolf in the story. He's the perfect guy to help Chad and Stan/Sami get revenge on EJ.

I hope Eve gets to the bottom of things. It looks like Theresa is going to need someone to help her. I wonder if she squandered her money on drugs and this led to her being kicked out of her apartment?

Chapter 18

DIMERA MANSION
Chad and Stan sat in the living room of the Mansion. Rolf, Rex and Cassie walked in. Rex was wearing a new suit, and Cassie a new dress.
ROLF: Well, Chadwick, what do you think?
Chad stood and turned to look at the Gemini twins.
CHAD: I like it.
Chad walked over, took Cassie's hand, and kissed it.
CHAD: Cassie, beautiful as always.
CASSIE: Thank you.
He then walked over to Rex and shook his hand.
CHAD: Rex, you're looking good.
REX: Thank you.
CHAD: Stan, come over and see how are two guests of honor look.
Stan got up and walked over.
STAN: Not bad.
CHAD: And now, the great work begins.

EVE'S APARTMENT
Eve picked up the syringe that had fallen out of Teresa's purse.
EVE: Um, what is this?
TERESA: What is what?
Eve waved the syringe in front of Teresa's face.
EVE: This, Teresa. What is this?
Teresa forced a smile.
TERESA: Oh, that. I totally forgot that was in there. That's a syringe.
EVE: Don't give me that nonsense. I know it's a syringe. Now, what is it doing in your purse?
TERESA: I had completely forgotten that it was there. You see, we were giving out flu shots today at the hospital. And, they ran out of Sharp boxes, so I said that I would take a few of them home with me and dispose of them. Of course, I haven't had the time to, as when I got home, I was kicked out of my apartment.
EVE: Uh-huh.
TERESA: What? That's why I have it.
EVE: Look, I don't have time for this right now. I need to go check on my daughter. So, for whatever reason you brought that syringe home, get rid of it before I come back.
Eve left. Teresa sat down on the couch.
TERESA: Whoa, that was close. I thought Eve had figured it out. Thankfully, she didn't. Now, where did I put it?
Teresa searched through her purse, but did not find what she was looking for.
TERESA: Where is it?
She searched again, but still turned up nothing.
TERESA: Are you serious? That idiot only gave me a few syringes?
Teresa got up and looked through her suitcase. She found the paper bag with the dragon on the side. She looked inside of it, and breathed a sigh of relief.
TERESA: Okay. Okay. There's still another syringe or two in here. That's good. It's been a stressful day, and I just need to take the edge off a little bit. Just one more time. I don't want this to become a habit, so I'll just do it one more time. Just one more time and then I'll stop. Then, I'll sell what's left of this stuff.
Teresa pulled out a spoon with powder on it, took out a lighter, and began cooking.

Oh no, Teresa is totally addicted. And totally a fool if she thinks Eve bought her story for one minute.
