WESLEY’S BIRTHDAY PARTY
Lucas is hanging out at the buffet table popping a deviled egg into his mouth.
Lucas: Hey Philip. You talk to Mom lately?
Philip: Why? Aren’t you enjoying the peace and quiet?
Lucas: Sure, but some sh!t at work is accumulating and we need her signature.
Philip: Why don’t you just authorize whatever needs to be authorized.
Lucas looks at Philip with skepticism.
Lucas: You know about something, don’t you?
Philip: Look Lucas, Mom is fine. She’s safe. She’s just unavailable right now.
Lucas: I hope you know what you’re doing.
Philip: No worries. Say, are you and Sami back together?
Lucas: We are.
Philip smiles.
Philip: In that case, you should be very happy that Mom’s not around.
Meanwhile, Brady and Nicole are playing with Sydney. Brady motions for Philip to come over.
Brady: So where’s Granddad? It’s not like him to be out of touch for so long.
Philip: I convinced him to take a vacation.
Brady: Bullsh!t.
Philip: Okay then, he’s out of the country on business.
Brady: If that were true, I would know about it. What else you got?
Philip: I got a million of ‘em, but I have better things to do than make excuses for my father.
Brady: Are you telling me I should mind my own business.
Philip: In a way, yes.
Nicole goes over to Chloe who is holding Wesley and talking to Hope, Nancy, Joy, and Ciara. She pulls Chloe aside.
Nicole: So, everything good?
Chloe: Everything is perfect.
Nicole: Even though ...
Chloe: Even though what?
Nicole: I don’t know. You and Philip were separated and he was with another woman. I would be a little skeeved out by that.
Chloe: Nicole! … Actually, Philip and I have been talking about ...
The room falls silent as Maggie has just answered a knock at the door. Melanie and Daniel are standing in the entranceway bearing gifts. Chloe doesn’t see them and continues talking.
Chloe: Philip and I have been talking about renewing our vows.
She looks toward the door and sees Daniel and Melanie.

Ohhh what timeing for Mel and Daniel to arrive. Boy poor Philip. Everyone is after him about Kate and Victor. Loved when Philip asked Lucas if he was back with Sami and He said yes and Philip replied that he should be happy that Mom was not around. I am so glad that even if I can't have Mel and Philip I have got my Lucas and Sami back together. Thanks Kpatch can't wait till tomorrow. Funny no one has missed Gus or Vivian.

I wonder how long Philip will need to make excuses regarding Kate & Victor. Even though Daniel & Mel just showed up, I am sure it will be ok..I am sure they all agree what has become of them was meant to be and will be cordial at least.

I really enjoyed this chapter Kpatch! I liked Philip's conversations with Lucas and Brady! I thought it was very appropriate that Nicole would say that to Chloe. I could see that conversation happening on the screen too. I can't wait for more!

Wonderful chapter. Great conversations and very realistic. Nice to see Daniel and Melanie acting like grown ups and (it would apprear) trying to mend fences. But why do I have this horrible feeling that Melanie is pregnant?

Ohhh nooo I never even thought about Mel getting pregnant. Like Sam Ivering said all the time during the Watergate hearings. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

Melanie: We didn’t mean to intrude. We just wanted to bring Parker some presents.
Daniel: We ... can’t … stay ... long.
Still holding Wesley, Chloe joins Philip at the door.
Chloe: We’re glad you came. Please, come in.
Melanie: Can I hold him?
Chloe: Um...
Chloe looks at Philip quizzically and Philip gestures toward the baby.
Chloe: Oh! You mean Wesley. Of course.
Chloe gives Wesley to Melanie, and Melanie walks into the study. Philip follows her.
Melanie: He’s gotten so big.
Philip: He lost a little weight while he was ... away from us. But he’s back in the normal range now.
Melanie: I’m impressed that you know all that stuff, Philip. You’re a good dad.
Philip: It takes more than knowing what percentile he’s in to be a good father. But I try.
MEANWHILE IN THE FRONT HALLWAY...
Chloe: It was nice of you to come. You and Melanie both.
Daniel: Well, she ... wanted to ... see Parker and ... bring him his presents.
Chloe: Thank you. And thank you for being such a good friend to me when we thought Philip was dead. Your support meant a lot.
Daniel: Yeah ... well ... you know.
IN THE STUDY
Melanie is getting a little emotional.
Melanie: Um, I need you to take him back. Now. Please.
Philip: Sure. Philip takes Wesley from Melanie. It means a lot to me that you came.
Melanie: Yeah ... well ... you know. Look. Um. I have to go. She sprints for the front door. Let’s go Dad.
Daniel: Sure kitten. Whatever you say.
Chloe: We’re about to cut the birthday cake. Can’t you stay?
Before Chloe finishes her sentence, Melanie and Daniel are gone. She looks at Philip and shrugs weakly.
Philip: Cake time?

I think Melanie is still not over Philip and the loss of their baby together.
Too funny that Chloe thought Melanie wanted to hold Philip & not Wesley!!! ;D

I wonder what's wrong with Melanie. But, perhaps it's what sportsgirl said, that she's not over Philip or their baby.

How long has it been since Phillip and Chloie went to find Wesley? Please Kpatch don't add another baby to the mix. This statement makes me somewhat worried.
