from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8525958/15/Mark Hapka NOT returning to Days of Our LivesMoments after Soaps.com reported that Days Of Our Lives' Francisco San Martin was let go, we heard from Mark Hapka (ex-Nathan) via Facebook with news that he was returning to the show to reprise his role. Since we are familiar with the actor and have interviewed him on occasion, we saw no need to confirm with the studio, nor his rep. Since the studio doesn't always confirm everything requested, we reported the news and followed it up by asking him what his tape date and airdate would be. Soaps.com heard back from the actor today, a week later, who claims to know nothing about the earlier message where he informed us of his imminent return and asked that we not name our source. Is this a case of somebody hacking into the actor's Facebook page, or a publicity stunt? We'll likely never learn the truth but wanted to inform our loyal readers that as it stands now, Mark Hapka will not be returning to "Days Of Our Lives." If this should change, we'll inform you. We regret to have had a hand in getting your hopes up. As you know, we never report without confirmation from either the actors or the publicists. Source: Soaps.com |

That's interesting. I wonder if the character is being recast or if the whole thing was a hoax.

I was actually looking forward to it. Looking for a change in the character with the new writers and had hope for him and Melanie. Now i'm quite diappointed.
I wonder who the other returns are going to be and when the heck they are going to let us know who they are? I'm very impatiently tapping my foot here!

Apparently Mark was the one who started the rumor about him returning in hopes that he could get the fans excited about his return and Days would hire him back so I wonder if the show still may bring back Nathan for Melanie but instead of Mark being in the role Days is just going to recast the role since the show decided to fire the actor who played Dario and the show is going to need someone for Melanie. It looks like Mark is really burning all his bridges with Days and doesn't have much of a chance of ever being asked back to the show.

I wonder if TPTB just don't want to confirm it (for whatever reason). I was getting excited about Jack being Nathan's father. If that were the case, I might even start to like Nathan.
However, if Mark really did start the rumor as a way to say "See how much they love me? You should really hire me back." then the kids an idiot.

That is so weird about Mark. Part of me is happy about it. I wasn't looking forward to Nathan again. But at the same time it makes me wonder what will happen with him not coming back and Dario leaving. Doesn't look good for Melanie.

I agree Mrs. M. I wasn't excited about his return either but hoped that the new writers would improve the character. I wonder what Melanie will do now.

Ive been thinking about that a lot. I pray it's not Jeremy. If melanie is to be with a Horton it HAS to be Nathan. I wouldn't mind a recast and I absolutely wouldn't mind it to be mark neither. Just hopefully the writers would change him. I wonder when they are going to let us know who else the 5 or 6 returns will be. We only have confirmation of 3.

The previous actor who played Jeremy is on 90210 now. I hope Jeremy doesn't return either. That character was terrible. I wonder if Nick Fallon will ever return. He's a Horton isn't he?

Molly's contract expires in June of 2012 so maybe she isn't expected to resign with the show since most of the other younger actresses like Shelley Hennig and Rachel Melvin ended up leaving after their initial 4 year contract expired or the show may not be planning on offering her a new contract when her contract is up. If Molly does leave when her contract expires it is easier to write Melanie out of the show if she is not paired up with someone like Nathan. The show could just be trying to have Melanie float around aimlessly until they know for sure that she is staying with the show. |

Fluffy: Yes but that actor, I can't remember his name, was just dropped to recurring. They said maybe only 3 episodes this season or something along those lines. I saw that a few weeks back
