Chapter 67

Brady and Billie had just kissed. When the kiss was over, they looked into each other's eyes. For a moment, neither one knew what to say.
BRADY: Whoa...that was...
BILLIE: Ssh.
She put a finger on Brady's mouth.
BILLIE: Don't say anything. Just dance with me.
So, they did. As the song says, they got lost on the dance floor. With about a minute of the song left, they were both staring into each other's eyes.
BILLIE: Okay. Go ahead.
BRADY: Well, I liked it. Did you?
BILLIE: Yeah, I liked it.
BRADY: So...
BILLIE: So...
BRADY: This is crazy.
BILLIE: Totally.
BRADY: I mean, we've been spending all this time together the last few weeks. Having lunch together. Dancing together.
BILLIE: Yep.
BRADY: So...I just want to say, I like you...a lot.
BILLIE: I like you a lot, too.
BRADY: And I was kinda wondering if...you'd like to give this a try?
BILLIE: Yeah. I think I'd like that. Just one thing.
BRADY: What?
BILLIE: Kiss me again.
And he did. A kiss that made sparks fly. The song changed (click to hear what is now playing). From afar, Chelsea, who was dancing with Max, was watching.
CHELSEA (whispering): Yes!
MAX: It actually happened.
CHELSEA: See? I told you they'd be cute together!
MAX: When you're right, you're right.
Max and Chelsea kissed. Elsewhere on the beach, Ceri and Sydney were dancing.
SYDNEY: This night is awesome! I'm having one of the best nights of my life.
CERI: Same here. I love you so much. Thanks for being the most amazing girl in the world.
SYDNEY: Well, thank you for being the most amazing girl in the universe.
Sydney and Ceri kissed.
CERI: I'm glad we told everybody.
SYDNEY: Me too.
Will walked over.
WILL: Mind if I cut in?
CERI: Sure.
Ceri stepped off to the side as Will danced with his youngest sister.
WILL: Congratulations on your engagement. I'm really happy for you.
SYDNEY: Thanks.
WILL: So, are you having fun?
SYDNEY: Definitely. This is the most fun I've had in a long time. You and Sonny put on a great party, Will.
WILL: Well, thanks. Like you said, we could all use a party.
SYDNEY: Well, this has been the best one I've ever been to.

WILL & SONNY'S HOUSE
ARI: Do I really have to go back to Brehm?
WILL: Well, we won't make you if you really don't wanna go.
SONNY: But, we will have to do a quick transfer to Salem High.
ARI: Can we do that?
WILL: We'll see. Probably, yes.
ARI: Awesome!

SALEM HIGH
It was the first day back at school. J.J. and Rhiannon were talking by one of the lockers.
RHIANNON: I had a great time the other night.
J.J.: Me too.
RHIANNON: I just...
J.J.: What? What's up?
RHIANNON: I don't want to end things this year like we did last year.
J.J.: Neither do I.
RHIANNON: So...when do you have to go back?
J.J.: Tomorrow.
RHIANNON: Oh.
Rhiannon sniffled. J.J. wrapped his arms around her.
J.J.: Hey, what's wrong?
RHIANNON: Sorry. I'm just...I'll miss you.
J.J.: You don't have to.
RHIANNON: What do you mean?
J.J.: I decided Evergreen wasn't my thing. Don't get me wrong, Evergreen State was nice, but I didn't feel like going back this year. I found that I can get the same degree for much, much cheaper tuition at Salem U.
RHIANNON: So, you're staying?
J.J.: Yep.
RHIANNON: Cool!
J.J. and Rhiannon hugged. Over at a different set of lockers, Sydney and Ceri were getting their things.
SYDNEY: So, that's it. Summer's officially over.
CERI: Yep. Just one more year and then we're done.
SYDNEY: And then, we're one step closer to being together forever.
Sydney and Ceri kissed. The one-minute warning bell rang.
CERI: Come on. Let's get to History.
Holding each other's hand, Ceri and Sydney walked into a classroom.
