Thank you everyone for all your positive thoughts and prayers on my behalf. I sincerely appreciate how much you care.
Remind me never to make light of any kind of surgery ever again. I know people who have had bunion surgery and never thought it was a big deal. It’s different when it’s you who is having it.
It was an all-day affair on Thursday. We left the house at 7:00 and returned back at 3:00. Those medical people ask the same questions over and over and over: What’s your name? What’s your date of birth? Who’s your doctor? Which foot? What are you having done? I’m glad they want to be sure not to make a mistake but I must have been asked those same questions by 10 different people. One of them was a cute intern. Cuter than Nathan. For some reason, I didn't mind when he asked those questions.
I was so happy that I got my meds filled in advance so we didn’t have to stop on the way home. I slept for the rest of the day after that and didn’t eat a thing. I felt really good yesterday while I was still numb. Unfortunately, I’m in pain today, now that the numbness has worn off. I borrowed crutches, but mostly I am supposed to stay off my feet, keep the foot elevated and iced. (I am already formulating a “Rear Window” type story, Days style.) I have this ugly boot that I have to wear day and night and a straight pin with a green ball sticking out of my toe. Lovely. I have a post-op appointment with my doctor on Monday morning
I was hoping to come out of the surgery with a funny Ron story, but alas, there is none. He has been an angel. Bought me flowers and is being very attentive and helpful. Thank God for Ron.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep them going for a full recovery. My goal is to be able to go power walking on the sports deck by the time my December cruise rolls around. Ron says my goal is to be able to walk from our cabin to the buffet line. LOL.

I had a small bone spur removed 7 years ago on the side of my little toe. So I do understand a bit of what you are going through. It hurt & throbbed and those crutches were miserable. Plus at the time I lived in a 2nd floor apartment. No elevator, only stairs. But I am so glad I had it done as I every shoe or sneaker I wore hurt so much.
You will get better & maybe a few pounds lost may be a bonus?? Take it slow & easy and let Ron pamper you! Lucky you with the cute intern!

Take it easy and try to rest as much as you can! Definitely take the pain pills. I hope the pain subsides soon. I will continue to pray for a quick and as painless as possible recovery! BIG HUG!!!

Rest up! Feet injuries/recovery is nothing to make light of. Don't push it, and glad you're getting TLC a la Ron style. Can't wait for a rear window mystery...
