Chapter 6

BRADY PUB
ERIC: I'm a priest. Well, I was.
MADISON: Was?
ERIC: There was an incident. And, I left the priesthood over it.
MADISON: What happened?
ERIC: I was drugged and raped. And, at first, I couldn't remember anything about that night. But then, parts of it starting coming together and I thought I knew who it was. And I acted horribly to a person who was a good friend, because I thought she had done it. Then, I found out who really did it.
MADISON: That's horrible!
ERIC: No, what's horrible is how I treated this friend of mine who I thought did it.
MADISON: Have you tried talking to this person?
ERIC: Yeah, I've tried, but she's pretty mad with me at the moment, understandably, I mean, Zi said some nasty things to her, especially for being a priest.
MADISON: Well, I hope you guys work things out.
ERIC: Thanks.
Madison looks at her watch.
MADISON: Hey, I'm really sorry, but I gotta go. My manager wants me to practice in about 15 minutes.
ERIC: Okay. No problem. Thanks for stopping by. Are you in town for long?
MADISON: A couple days. Maybe a week.
ERIC: Well, I'll see you around, then.
MADISON: Good to see you.
ERIC: You too.
Eric and Madison hugged. Madison gave Eric a small kiss on the cheek. Then, she walked away.

ST. LUKE'S
It was now a little while later. Father Matt was resting when he heard a noise. He went to see what it was. To his surprise, he saw a hooded person run out the door. He looked around and saw that this person had graffitied the altar and smashed the flowers and candles. He quickly got his phone out and dialed a number.
MATT: This is Father Matt at St. Luke's Catholic Church. There's been a break in here. Can you send somebody out here, please?

[MrsM]

Uh oh. Wonder what is going on.

I have a really bad feeling regarding this person, or was it a real person? Hmmmmm.

Chapter 7

ST. LUKE'S
Soon, the police arrived at St. Luke's, and starting collecting evidence and clearing up the mess.
HOPE: Tell me exactly what happened.
MATT: Well, it has been a trying week. I was lying down, resting for a little while. Suddenly, I heard a crash, and got up to investigate. I walked into the sanctuary and found a total mess. The candles were snapped in half, the flowers were smashed all over the place. The altar had been graffitied. It was a wreck.
HOPE: Was anything stolen?
MATT: No. I checked the money, the communion set up, the pantry, everywhere. Nothing lost, nothing stolen.
HOPE: This doesn't make sense. Who would do something like this?
MATT: Can you think of no one?
HOPE: Father Matt, it's a church. Who would break into a church, trash the place, but not steal anything?
MATT: I don't know. But, I sense dark forces at work here. I don't know why, but all this week, I've had a bad feeling, ever since Eric left the priesthood.
HOPE: Eric did what?
MATT: I'm sorry. That wasn't my place. It's just, I thought you knew.
HOPE: Eric left the priesthood?
MATT: Yes, but, please, don't bring it up unless he does. I only mentioned it because I thought you knew.
HOPE: i see. Do you know of anyone that would hold a grudge against you or the church?
Father Matt thought for a moment.
MATT: No, not that I can recall.
A young cop walked over.
COP: Detective Brady, here are the preliminary test results.
HOPE: Thank you.
The cop handed Hope an envelope,
HOPE: These aren't 100%. There may be something the test missed, that's why they're only preliminary tests. Would you like to do the honors?
MATT: Thank you.
Hope handed Father Matt the envelope, which he opened. He looked at the paper, then handed it to Hope.
MATT: I don't believe it.

Chapter 8

ST. LUKE'S
MATT: How is this possible?
HOPE: Well, like I said, this isn't a conclusive test. There could be something else going on.
MATT: But, if it is this person?
HOPE: If it is, then we'll have some questions for them.
Hope's cell phone rang.
HOPE: Excuse me.
Hope turned around and picked up her phone.
HOPE: Brady.
BO (over phone): Ready for me to come home yet, Fancy Face?
HOPE: Bo, how are you? Where are you?
BO (over phone): I'm fine. I'm currently several thousand feet over Missouri. I'm on my way home.
HOPE: Th...that's great! What airport are you coming into?
BO (over phone): O'Haire. Don't worry about picking me up, I have some old friends with me, and they're gonna bring me home.
HOPE: I can't wait.
BO (over phone): Me either. I gotta go. I'll call you once I'm on the ground. Love you.
HOPE: Love you, too.
Hope hangs up the phone. Eric walks up.
ERIC: Hi, guys. I heard sirens and wanted to see what was going on. What happened here?
HOPE: There was a break-in. Somebody vandalized the church.
MATT: I need to speak with you, Eric.
ERIC: Okay.
Father Matt lead Eric to another part of the church.
ERIC: What's going on?
MATT: You're doing a very good job of pretending you don't know.
ERIC: What do you mean?
MATT: Eric, I know it was you.
ERIC: What?
MATT: I know that you are the vandal who graffitied the altar, snapped the candles in half, and crushed the flowers.
ERIC: What!? Of course it's not me! I would never do that!
MATT: Really? Well, this D.N.A, test says different.
Father Matt hands Eric the paper.

No way Eric would do that but how did they put his DNA there?? Unless, since this is an Andre story, is there an evil doppelganger of Eric that was created?? LOL (insert evil laugh here)

Chapter 9

ST. LUKE'S
ERIC: How is this possible? I haven't been here since a few days ago when I told you I was resigning.
MATT: The D.N.A. tests tell a different story.
ERIC: Well, it wasn't me. I've been at the Brady Pub all afternoon. I only came here hen I heard sirens go off.
MATT: Well, that is interesting.
ERIC: Look, Father Matt, I swear to you I didn't do this! You have my word. My word as a former priest. I will swear on a Bible if you'd like.
MATT: That won't be necessary.
HOPE: As I was saying to Father Matt just a little bit ago, these tests are just preliminary dustings. We'll be conducting a more thorough investigation and seeking out more conclusive tests later.
ERIC: I see. Thank you.
Eric walked outside the church, got out his cell phone and dialed a number.
MARLENA (over phone): Hello?
ERIC: Hi, Mom.
MARLENA (over phone): Hi, honey. What's going on?
ERIC: I know it's nearly nine at night, but can I come over? I need someone to talk to.

PENTHOUSE
MARLENA: Sure, that'd be fine. I was going to be up for a while, anyway.
ERIC (over phone): Okay, thanks. I'll see you in a little bit. Love you.
MARLENA: Love you, too.
Marlena hung up the phone and sat down. Almost immediately as she did so, there was a knock on the door.
MARLENA: Now, that can't be Eric, as he just got off the phone with me. So, who would be calling at this time of night?
Marlena got up, opened the door and gasped. For, behind that door was...
JOHN: Hey, Doc. I would have used the key, but I realized I forgot to take it with me.
MARLENA: John?
JOHN: Yep. It's me, Doc. I'm back.

I wonder if Eric doesn't remember where he was...
