Slyn, TheCorrectTime, and I have been doing some detective work and have uncovered information about a movie that Jay K Johnson (formerly Philip Kiriakis, Days) is filming. It all started when Slyn discovered a casting call online looking for someone to play Jay’s younger self. Others in the cast include John Schneider, Ali Landry and Abby Wathen. neworleans.craigslist.org/tfr/3026291195.htmlThe fact that they are casting/have casted a younger version of his character, along with his parents, makes me hopeful that Jay has a bigger and better role than he had in some of his other post-Days projects. The movie is called Runaway Hearts and it’s currently (June 2012) shooting in New Orleans. Not sure if it will be released in theaters or for TV. That's great news I was starting to get worried for Jay. It is to bad that Ali Landry doesn't accept roles where there are kissing scenes. She and Jay would have made a hot couple. It does sound like it could be a Hallmark movie, but those only take about a month to shoot and this says it will shooting till September. Maybe we will se Jay on the Big Screen.

6 hour trip for me...Wish I hadn't been out of work for 7 weeks. I nice long weekend in New Orleans would be real nice!

But maybe Jay is romantically paired with someone else in the film, or with no one at all...or it is one of those films where romance is through hugs and glances. Sometimes the best couples don't need to kiss. I am a big Jane Austen fan....no kissing. Some Bollywood films have no kissing too. Sleepless in Seattle comes to mind...and some of those Hallmark Hall of Fame movies had either no kisses or just one at the end. I like things left to the imagination. I am into classic films...probably why.  |

I am so happy for Jay and so proud of him!!! I never doubted for one second that Jay wouldnt land another good movie after Undercover Bridesmaid!! I love the fact that he waits for good movie roles and he just doesn't take the first thing that comes his way out of fear that nothing else will come along. I live close to NO and I wish I could go, but I don't have anymore vacation time til next year.

I totally agree with what you said about Jay and Shelley the had excellent chemistry together, very natural not forced at all. With better writing Philip/Stephanie really could have been a modern day super couple. Shelley is actually going to be in New Orleans the first week of July visiting friends and family. I know her and Jay still keep in touch, maybe they will get together while she is down there and we can get some twitter pictures.

I think I'm equally excited about Ali Landry and John Schneider being involved in this project. I would enjoy seeing JKJ and Shelley Hennig work together again in different roles. I always thought they had good chemistry, I just didn't care for the way they started writing Stephanie.... and Shelley (like Ali) is a home girl - she grew up just outside of New Orleans like I did (different towns but close in proximity). Funny a bunch of us were just saying this about Jay and Molly. So I guess we all want to see our favs together again. ;D |
