Chapter 686
RENAISSANCE LONDON HEATHROW HOTEL - ENGLAND
Cassie, Roman and Kate sat in the hotel room.
CASSIE: So, not that I’m not loving taking in the sights of England, mostly around the airport, but when can we go home? To be honest, I kind of miss Salem, and Rex.
ROMAN: I know what you mean. Hopefully, this will all be cleared up soon and we should be able to.
KATE: Whatever happens, as soon as we get back, we’ve got to find some way to get Rex out of André DiMera’s clutches.
John and Steve, who were sharing the adjoining room, walked in.
STEVE: Well, we’ve got some news about that. Not about Rex, unfortunately, He’s gonna be a bit harder to get ahold of than we thought.
JOHN: We do have some news on the other bit, though. Congratulations, kid, you’re going home.
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
CIARA: Really?
TRIX: Yeah. I overheard him and Aunt Vivian talking while I was unpacking my things to stay over the Easter holiday. Wasn’t trying to listen in or anything, just happened to overhear. Granddad was saying something about having to take care of his little indiscretion, and how nobody can ever know about this, but Aunt Vivian convinced him to at least let my Dad know.
CIARA: Wow! So, how are you doing with all this?
Trix shrugged.
TRIX: Dunno, really. I’ve always kind of wondered what it’d be like to have an aunt. I mean, I know my Dad’s got a sister, but I barely even know my Aunt Mel. More than anything, I guess I’m just a bit confused.
CIARA: Yeah, that makes sense.
Trix sat down on the bed next to Ciara. She put her head on Ciara’s shoulder, and Ciara kissed the top of her head.
CIARA: You know I’m here for you for whatever you need, right?
TRIX: Yeah, of course. Always.
CIARA: Good.
After a moment, there came a knock at the door. Ciara and Trix sat up as Lily and Hope walked in.
CIARA: Mom.
HOPE: Hi, honey, Trix.
TRIX: Hey.
LILY: Well, Ciara, I have the results of your scans back. Before I continue, did you want me to give them to you privately?
CIARA: No, that’s okay. Whatever happens, I want my Mom and Trix to know about.
LILY; All right, I just had to make sure.
Lily typed something into her tablet, then put it on the desk so Ciara, Hope and Trix could see it.
LILY: This is the scan that Dr. Banning took of your leg the night you were brought in. As you can see, the nerve in your leg which controls movement is out of place.
CIARA: Right, we all know that.
Lily swiped right.
LILY: This is the scan I took this afternoon. Now, I know it looks incredibly similar, but take a good look at that nerve.
Lily zoomed in on the nerve she was referring to.
CIARA: What does this mean?
LILY: It means that the nerve is finally making its way back to its proper place. I suspected this from how well you’ve been doing in therapy lately, and when you mentioned feeling a strange potential sensation, I had to make sure. The nerve is healing.
CIARA: So...will I be able to walk normally again soon?
