Chapter 4

THE LOFT
Jan ran down the stairs. Shawn-D was already up and, although he was shirtless, he was moving around, looking for a flashlight.
JAN: Shawn, what's going on?
SHAWN-D: Tornado Warnings. They've put the sirens on. Come with me.
Shawn-D and Jan ran into the basement of the loft.

BASEMENT
Shawn-D sat on the floor of the basement of the loft. Shawn-D had a flashlight in one hand, which he turned on.
SHAWN-D: Okay. Here we go. We should be all right now.
Jan wasn't so convinced, however. She was curled up into a ball.
JAN: Shawn, I'm scared. I'm really, really scared!
Shawn-D moved closer to Jan.
SHAWN-D: It's okay. You'll be okay. It's just a warning. They haven't actually seen anything yet. The sirens are just on in case they do see anything.
Jan still didn't feel any better, and Shawn-D could see this.
SHAWN-D: Is there anything you need? Is there anything I can do to help make you feel better?
Jan thought about it for a minute. She wiped a tear from her eye.
JAN: Will you hold me?
SHAWN-D: Yeah, sure. I'll hold you. Come here.
Shawn-D got even closer to Jan. She put her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around her and tried to comfort her.
JAN: I'm really scared, Shawn!
SHAWN-D: I know. I know you are. But, it'll be okay. We're safe down here. And, we've got each other. Trust me. Everything will be all right.
JAN: I...I love you.
SHAWN-D: I love you, too.
Though the storm kept them up for a while, eventually, both went to sleep.

W-What??? Shawn-D loves her? Well maybe in a sisterly way? Don't do it Shawn!! Don't go to the dark side! Remember your stupid wife and your sweet daughter!

I'm also wondering how Shawn meant his "I love you" to Jan. Jan still worries me. She sounds a little schizophrenic.

This is a good story Andre. I'm anxious to see where Belle went. And hopeful too.

This is reminding me a bit of The Storm (a story I love by Kate Chopin). LOL What happens in the storm, stays in the storm...

Wow. Shawn D loves Jan. Does he not remember all that she has done to him in the past. What about his wife and child. Boy I need another chapter. Can't wait till tomorrow. Thanks Andre.

Chapter 5

THE LOFT
Shawn-D woke up. The first thing he noticed was that he had fallen asleep with Jan in his arms. After a minute or two, Jan woke up. It took her a minute to remember where she was.
SHAWN-D: Hi.
JAN: Hi.
Then, Jan remembered that she had fallen asleep in Shawn-D's arms. She quickly got up and ran back into the bedroom to grab her things.

BEDROOM
Shawn-D walked in. Jan was nervously packing up her things.
SHAWN-D: You okay?
JAN (nervously): Who? Me? Yeah...totally. Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be. I...I just have to ask you...ask you a question.
SHAWN-D: Okay. What's the question?
JAN (nervously): Did...uh, did we...?
SHAWN-D: No.
JAN (nervously): Oh...that's good...I...um...I need to go...I have to leave...I'll...see you later.
Jan grabbed her things and head towards the door.
SHAWN-D: Jan?
Jan turned back.
JAN: Yeah?
SHAWN-D: Why do you have to leave?
JAN (nervously): I...I just do...trust me, Shawn. It's...it's better this way.
SHAWN-D: Why?
JAN (nervously): It just is. Trust me. It would just be better if I left right now and we never saw each other again.
SHAWN-D: But, Jan, don't you think we should at least discuss what happened last night?
JAN (nervously): What...what happened? No...there's no need to discuss what happened. After all, you said that we didn't even do anything together...right?
SHAWN-D: Well, we didn't do “it”, if that's what you mean. But, we did confess that we love each other.
JAN (nervously): Yes...well...that's not unexpected. I mean, you've known for a long time that I love you...why would that be a surprise?
SHAWN-D: It's not. I just thought you would be surprised that I told you that I love you.
JAN (nervously): See, this is why I need to leave. I...I just can't be near you.
SHAWN-D: Why not? Why can't you be near me? Just, please, explain that to me, and then you can go.
Jan dropped all of her things.
JAN: I can't be with you...because I'm scared. And I don't just mean scared. I mean freaked out.
SHAWN-D: You're scared of me?
JAN: No, I'm not scared of you. I'm scared of myself. Of the person I used to be. Of the person I might turn into again. Of Evil Jan.
SHAWN-D: Evil Jan?
JAN: That's the name I gave my other side. The dark side of me. The side of me that locked you in a cage for an entire summer. The side of me that tried to kill Belle. That year I spent in prison helped me. It helped me turn into a better person. I can't go back to being Evil Jan. And, I'm afraid that if I'm around you for too long, that I'll turn back into Evil Jan. That's why I can't be near you. Because if I am...she'll come back. I can't let that happen. She cannot come back. I've been under her spell for far too long! I'm not going back again! I just can't!
Jan stared at Shawn-D for a moment. Shawn-D picked some of Jan's things off of the floor and handed them to her.
SHAWN-D: I understand.
JAN: Thank you. I'm glad to hear it.
Jan picked up the rest of her things, and turned to leave. Then, she stopped. She turned around slowly to look at Shawn-D. He could see that there were tears in her eyes.
JAN: I can't do it. I just can't do it. I know I should stay away...but I don't want to.
SHAWN-D: Look, Jan, I want to be your friend again. But, I also don't want to do anything that would make you uncomfortable.
JAN: I know. I know you wouldn't do that. You're one of the nice guys. I'm just really confused right now. Part of me doesn't want to be with you, out of fear that I'll go back to being Evil Jan. But, I love you. And part of me wants to be with you. I don't know what to do. I'm so messed up.
SHAWN-D: Well, if you need me to do anything, let me know.
JAN: Can you hold me?
SHAWN-D: Sure.
So, Shawn-D walked over to Jan, put his arms around her, and held her. Jan started to cry.
SHAWN-D: Ssh. It's okay. It'll be all right.
JAN: I'm sorry, Shawn.
SHAWN-D: It's okay. You don't have to be sorry.
JAN: I do want to be with you. But, we'd have to take it slow.
SHAWN-D: That's fine. We can take it as slow as you want, only if you want to, that is.
JAN: I do. I really do. So, I guess we're dating now.
SHAWN-D: I guess so.
Shawn-D and Jan kissed.

Take it slow, well they already told each other that they are in love, how much slower do they want to go?

So Shawn-D is ready to move on from Belle? Wow! Maybe Belle sensed this & that's why she left? I can't even imagine what Bo & Hope will think about this!!

Is Shawn taking a page from EJ's playbook? You're married Shawn. That means you don't date other people. I am so annoyed with Shawn right now. Andre, you are doing a great job of making Jan a sympathetic character. I have hated her for years but now I feel bad for her because she is trying so hard to be a good person...except for the part about seeing a married man.

I agree, Andre, you're making Jan a very sympathetic character. I don't want to feel bad for Jan, but I can't help it, LOL

I too am feeling bad for Jan but Shawn on the other hand is married. Maybe you need to figure out what's going on with your wife before you get a girlfriend. Great story Andre!

Wow. I never thought I would feel sorry for Jan, but I do. I am so angery at Shawn right now. He is married and has a child. I still can't understand why Shawn would want to be with Jan after all she did to him and Belle. Just a little while ago he was upset because Belle was shot by Jan and now he wants to date Jan. I am wondering if this is some kind of Dream that Belle is having.
