Uh oh. First Chloe finds out the memory of singing to a baby was Allie not Parker. Now she's going to find out her steamy elevator memory was with Lucas not Philip.

Chapter 11b
“You. Me. A stuck elevator. I was getting a little claustrophic and you found the perfect way to get me to relax,” Chloe remembered. “Leave it to you to do something like that. ... Did that happen here? In this building?”
Philip’s lips parted but no words came out.
“What’s wrong Philip?” Chloe asked. “Don’t tell me I embarrassed you.”
“Uh.” He scratched his head. “I’m sort of hoping that was a fantasy and not a memory. See, that never happened, at least not with you and me.”
Chloe’s jaw dropped. “It ... it wasn’t you? Oh god.” She plopped onto the sofa and covered her face with her hands. “Oh god.”
“Hey, it’s okay,” Philip sat down beside her and rubbed her back. “I know I wasn’t your first, but I’m flattered that you pictured me instead of some other guy.”
Chloe took her hands away from her face long enough to look at Philip. “Some other guy? Some other guy in an elevator? It couldn’t have been some random stranger, right? It couldn’t have been, oh God, a john. I must have known him pretty well to ... you know.”
“Yeah. I know.” Philip nodded. “Calm down, Chloe. I’m pretty sure it was Lucas.”
Chloe recoiled. “Lucas?? Ew. No, please don’t tell me it was Lucas. I must be replacing all my Lucas memories with other people because I know he hates me.”
“Well, you once liked each other well enough to get married,” Philip shrugged.
“And what makes you think it was Lucas in the elevator with me?" Chloe was still hoping Philip was wrong. "Did I tell you?”
“Um. No,” Philip paused as if he was deciding how much to reveal. “But legend has it that’s the way you two started out. Your first date,” Philip hooked his fingers into air quotes when he said the word date, “was in an elevator at Salem Inn on July 4th ... um ... during a blackout.”
“Oh my god. Are you serious?" Her eyes widened. "You are serious. Who does something like that in an elevator?”
“Well, given the chance, I'd say lots of people. Sort of a variation on the mile high club. If it makes you feel any better, you weren’t the only one doing it in an elevator that night,” Philip said. “Just ask Nicole.”
Chloe gasped and did a double take at Philip. “You mean … you and Nicole?”

Chloe keeps having Lucas related memories. Chloe may be apprehensive talking to Philip about her next memory flashes. Now Chloe thinks Philip and Nicole hooked up in an elevator. Looking forward to tomorrow's chapter.

Chapter 11c
“If it makes you feel any better, you weren’t the only one doing it in an elevator that night,” Philip said. “Just ask Nicole.”
Chloe gasped and did a double take at Philip. “You mean … you and Nicole?”
“What?? No! Never,” Philip clarified. “Although I did get propositioned on an elevator at Salem General a few months ago by some girl who works there. I can't remember her name though.”
“Philip!”
“Don’t worry, I turned her down.” Philip got a far-away look for a minute. Chloe snapped her fingers in front of Philip’s face. “Sorry,” he said. “What were we talking about?”
“Nicole!” It seemed to Chloe that Philip was really dragging out the story. “You were telling me about Nicole. And the elevator, remember?”
“Oh. Right. Nicole. ... So Nicole told me that while you and Lucas were … um … getting to know each other better, she and EJ were in the elevator next door doing the same thing.”
“Oh my God. Unbelievable,” Chloe said shaking her head. “I still don’t understand how you know so much about it. Did Nicole tell you about … um … about me and Lucas?”
“Yeah, but I already knew.”
Chloe was starting to feel mentally exhausted by all these revelations. She wasn’t even sure she wanted to hear any more but she couldn’t seem to stop herself. “I’m almost afraid to ask. How did you know something so personal? And what did you mean by legend has it?”
“Ahh, Lucas is a jackass,” Philip said, waving it off. “And a bragger. Told me way more about it than I wanted to hear. He was obviously trying to make me jealous and -- I’ll be honest -- he succeeded.”
“What a jerk.” Chloe got up off the couch and started to pace. “Oh God, Philip. What was I thinking?”
“Well, if you need some context, you and I had just broken up and I think Lucas was sort of a rebound for you.”
“Oh that’s right,” Chloe recalled. “Back in Salem, when you bribed Lucas into meeting with me, he told me that he and Sami had split up too, and we were both lonely. Somehow we lonelied ourselves into a marriage. Like I said, weird.”
“We’ve all done stupid things, Chloe ... been with the wrong person for the wrong reasons. I’ve done it too,” he said reassuringly. “Hey. It’s in the past.”
“Yeah, but of all the things for me to remember, I wish it wasn’t that.” Chloe felt sad that the perfect first memory where she was singing to Parker turned out not to be Parker at all. Perhaps she was right to be afraid of remembering the past. She knew it wouldn’t be rainbows and unicorns. “I probably have a guilty conscience where Lucas is concerned. I definitely would not choose to remember anything about Lucas.”
“Trust me, it took me a long time to get that mental image of you and Lucas in the elevator out of my head too.”
“I’m sorry, Philip. I’m sorry you had to find out about that…. So, how did you get that image out of your mind. Because, if you have any advice on how to do that, I’m all ears,” she said.
“It’s easier than you think,” Philip said, rubbing Chloe’s shoulders from behind and leaning close to her ear. “You have to replace it with something better, maybe something that includes a massage. ... Tell you what. After Parker’s bath, I’ll help you forget all about the elevator memory.”
Smiling, Chloe leaned her head back until it made contact with Philip’s. “I like the way you think.”

I'm glad that Philip is trying to make light of the memory. It's good that he told her it was a rebound. I like the idea of creating a new memory.

Chapter 12
Late one afternoon the following week, Philip entered the apartment after work and picked up the mail from the credenza near the door. He wondered where everyone was. Parker usually came running when Philip walked through the door, but not today, and it worried him. Philip was about to call out when he heard muffled voices coming from the direction of the bedrooms, followed by laughter. He heard a man’s voice and his chest clenched. Could it be Daniel?
Before another moment went by, Parker came running through the living room calling “Daddy.” He leaped into Philip’s waiting arms.
“Hey big guy,” Philip said, lifting the boy into his arms and kissing his head. “Do we have company?”
“Yes we do,” Chloe said as she entered the room. “Look who’s here.”
A wave of relief washed over Philip when he saw it wasn’t Daniel. “Brady. Hey. What are you doing here?”
“I had a meeting earlier today with Mr. Shin, one of our shipping partners who was in town from Hong Kong. So I thought I’d stop by.” Brady looked at Chloe, then back at Philip. “I hope that’s okay.”
Philip put Parker down on the floor and walked toward Brady, extending his hand. “Of course. It’s good to see you.” The men embraced.
“Really? Because for a second there....”
“No really,” Philip cut him off. “I’m glad you came by. But you could have called, let us know you were coming.”
“Parker!” Chloe was watching her son spill a glass of milk all over himself in the kitchen. Parker started to cry. “Oh no. ... It’s okay, angel, come here.” She took him by the hand and walked toward the bathroom. “We’ll be right back, guys.”
“Sit down,” Philip said, as Brady took a seat on the easy chair and Philip sat down on the sofa. “How are dad and Maggie?”
“Fine. You know, the usual. Maggie spends most of her time worrying about Daniel and Jennifer, and Grandfather spends his time worrying about Maggie and me. ... Say, I noticed that Chloe seems much more like her old self than she did the last time I saw her at Craig’s house. She says she’s remembering things.”
Philip nodded. “Here and there, yes.”
“She wanted to know if I got her the job at the Kansas City Opera,” Brady told Philip. “She remembered singing there.”
Philip raised his eyebrows. This was news to him. “Oh?”
“I told her it was you. In fact, I told her it was always you, that you’d do anything for her, whether you guys were together or apart, you were there for each other. ... Say, any news about Kate?”
Chloe returned to the living room.
“Where’s Parker,” Philip asked her.
“He’s watching a video,” she responded. “You talking about me,” she asked lightheartedly.
“Our favorite subject,” Brady winked.
That wink took Philip by surprise. What the hell was that about, Philip wondered. What was really going on here? Did Brady really have business in Chicago, or did he come here expressly to see Chloe? And why was she telling Brady things that she hadn’t told Philip yet?
Continuing the conversation, Brady said to Chloe, “I told Philip you remembered singing in Kansas City.”
“That’s right,” she said. “I didn’t have a chance to tell you about that yet, Philip. I guess I should thank you.”
Philip breathed a sigh of relief. “You already thanked me, sweetheart.” He flashed to the public display of affection in the Brady Pub before she left for Kansas City, the kiss that got interrupted by Megan. No, Morgan. That was her name. Philip chuckled to himself at how unimportant that girl was to him; hell, he couldn't even remember her name and he kicked himself a million times for choosing her over Chloe. Insanity.
“I was telling Philip that you seem more like your old self.” Brady reached for Chloe’s hand. “It’s good to have you back.”
That little gesture almost had Philip flying off the sofa and lunging at Brady.
“Well, don’t get too excited,” Chloe said, slipping her hand out of Brady’s and taking a seat next to Philip on the couch. She linked her arm in his, as if she knew he needed reassuring. “I’m not quite there yet, but I’m definitely starting to remember more.”
Brady seemed to take that as his cue and he stood up. “Well, I’d better get going.”
“Don’t you want to stay for dinner,” Philip offered. He was feeling a little guilty about his jealous thoughts. “We can order Chinese.” Then he turned to Chloe. “Unless you had other dinner plans.”
“Nah, I’ve had my fill of Chinese for one day,” Brady said. “I’m gonna head back to Salem. But it was great seeing you both, and I promise to call first next time. Tell Parker I want a rematch. Thumb wrestling,” he added in response to Philip’s confused expression. Brady embraced Philip, then Chloe, before walking out the front door.
As soon as he was gone, Philip said, “I need to check my emails. I’m expecting a message from work.” Philip headed to his home office and Chloe followed him there.
“Philip wait,” she said. “You’re still jealous of Brady, aren’t you?”
